A reading set-up defines a meter on service objects: an odometer, an hour meter, with its unit, counter direction and limits.

What it is for​

In this release the screen opens with the layout of the reading entry screen: the transaction and service object fields of a reading, a Reading ID and Name, and a reading-lines grid that belongs to another screen. The set-up fields of a reading (type, unit, counter direction, limits) are not on the layout, so a service object reading set-up cannot be completed here.

Service orders pick their reading points from the plant maintenance list, Resource Reading Setup.

Use Resource Reading Setup for the reading points that service orders offer.

Scenarios​

  • A workshop wants to record odometer readings on job cards. Set up the reading ID on Resource Reading Setup; enter the reading on the Reading tab of the service order.

  • The screen shows reading lines instead of set-up fields. Broken as shipped; report it to support.
