What it is for

Copy From › Service Order brings the order's lines. Change quantity, price and discount as needed; tax is recalculated for the posting date. The proposal posts nothing.

The invoice is made on the Customer Invoice screen in Receivables, on a journal whose billing type is the service billing proposal, by picking this proposal. Once invoiced:

  • a line cannot be removed and its quantity cannot go below what was invoiced;
  • the proposal cannot be deleted.

A service order referred to by a proposal cannot be deleted, and its lines cannot be reduced below the proposed quantity.

Every field in plain words

Totals. The Total button (or the totals panel) shows Gross Amount, Discount Amount, Net Amount, Tax Amount, Amount Including Tax. They are worked out from the lines and cannot be typed.

Make sure the Service Origin line for the service order exists so Copy From works.

Scenarios

  • A long job is billed monthly. Each month a billing proposal takes the lines done that month; Receivables invoices each proposal.

What it is connected to

If something looks wrong

  • A line cannot be removed: "Line ID : … - Category (…) cannot be removed. It was already referred in Invoice." It is invoiced.
  • Save is refused with "Billing Proposal Lines - Line ID: … Quantity: … cannot be less than Quantity: … already processed." The invoice already took more.
  • Delete is refused with "Billing Proposal: … cannot be deleted, Invoice is already created: …". Reverse the invoice first.
