How do I invoice a service order?
Press Invoice on the saved Service Order Confirmation: one parked invoice per billable customer, plus the insurer's. Or bill in steps with a Billing Proposal, or by hand on the customer invoice.
Before you start
- Invoice Journal on Service Management Setting.
- Payment term and method on the customer, or on the service order.
Steps
- From the confirmation: open the saved confirmation and press Invoice. The message says "Invoices are Created". Press Invoices to open them.
- Post each parked invoice on the Customer Invoice screen in Receivables.
- In steps instead: create a Billing Proposal, Copy From the service order, adjust quantities, save; then make the invoice in Receivables on a service billing proposal journal and pick the proposal.
- By hand: on the customer invoice, on a journal for service order invoices, use Copy From › Service Order.
Check it worked
- The invoices list shows the invoices of the service order.
- The Invoice button on the confirmation is greyed once every invoice exists.

If something looks wrong
- "Payment Term is not defined for Customer …" - set it on the customer or the order.
- "Please Define Customer CostElement in Setting" - the order has a VOD amount; set the VOD cost elements.
- The Invoice button does nothing. Invoice Journal is empty or no confirmed line is billable.
