How do I plan preventive maintenance?

Define the cycles on a strategy, the operations per cycle on a time-based plan, run the schedule, and copy due visits into maintenance orders of category PLM.

Before you start​

Steps​

  1. Maintenance Strategy: one line per cycle, Value 1, 3, 12 for monthly, quarterly, yearly.
  2. Maintenance Plan - Time Based: parameters (group, model…), Schedule Start Date, Scheduling Period and Unit, the strategy. Create, then switch on the cycles per operation. Save.
  3. Maintenance Plan - Schedule: pick the plan, Create: one line per resource and due cycle. Adjust or cancel visits. Save.
  4. Each period: create a Maintenance Order of category PLM for the resource and press Maintenance Plan to copy its due visits.

Check it worked​

  • The Maintenance Schedule list shows the visits.
  • The order has the operations and parts of the visits.

If something looks wrong​

  • "Atleast one field select in Paramenters" - give at least one parameter on the plan.
  • No Maintenance Plan button on the order. The category code is not PLM.
  • Visits by meter reading are needed. Not supported in this release; see Maintenance Plan - Measuring Based.
