How do I give a customer a price before the work?

Price the job on Service Quotation; when approved, copy it into the Service Order with Copy From.

Before you start​

Steps​

  1. Open Service Quotation, New: Posting Date, Service Order Type, Status, Customer, Service Object. Create.
  2. Add operations on the Operation tab; their requirement lines fill in. Add parts on Item and other charges on Category.
  3. Save and print the Service Quotation report.
  4. When the customer agrees, create the Service Order and use Copy From › Service Quotation.

Check it worked​

  • The order lines carry the quotation prices.
  • The quotation can no longer be deleted.

If something looks wrong​

  • "… Customer Cannot be Empty" - a billable line has no customer.
