How do I split a repair between the customer and an insurer?

On the Service Order Split tab pick the insurer, who its invoice goes to, and the share of parts and labour the customer pays.

The insurer as a customer, VOD cost elements if used

Before you start

  • The insurer set up as a customer with a payment term and method.
  • VOD cost elements on Service Management Setting if a VOD (depreciation) amount is deducted.

Steps

  1. Open the service order in Create or Edit.
  2. Split tab: Customer = the insurer; Customer For Invoice = who the insurer's invoice goes to.
  3. Part % = share of parts the customer pays; Labour % = share of labour the customer pays. Answer Yes to update the lines.
  4. VOD Amount, if the insurer deducts depreciation that the customer bears.
  5. Save.

If something looks wrong

  • "Basic Data - Split Customer is not Defined" - Customer For Invoice is empty.
  • "Basic Data - Split Customer Cannot be same" - the insurer is the order customer.
  • "Split Information cannot change because Service Order Confirmation is created" - an invoice exists; the split is fixed.
