Maintenance Plan - Time Based

A time-based plan schedules preventive work by the calendar: from a start date, for a number of periods of a day, month or year.

What it is for

A plan says which resources get which operations, on which cycles of a strategy.

  1. Fill the header and at least one Parameter (resource group, resource, key value, manufacturer or model): the plan covers every resource that matches all the parameters given. Create is refused otherwise ("Atleast one field select in Paramenters").
  2. Pick the Maintenance Strategy. On Create, its cycles become columns of the operation grid.
  3. On each operation line, switch on the cycles the operation belongs to. Open Items to list the parts the operation needs.
  4. Save. Then run Maintenance Plan - Schedule to produce the dated visits.

A schedule run copies the plan as it is at that moment; changing the plan later does not change a schedule already run.

Scheduling Unit sets the period: a day, a month (30 days) or a year (365 days). Scheduling Period is how many periods to plan. Of the three scheduling indicators, ticking one clears the other two; only Time is used when the schedule is worked out.

How to configure it

Plan per family of equipment rather than per machine: a resource group with a model is usually enough.

Scenarios

  • All compressors of one model need monthly checks and a yearly overhaul for two years. Plan with parameter Model, strategy "M/Y", start date 1 January, Scheduling Unit month, Scheduling Period 24; the check operation on the monthly cycle, the overhaul on the yearly one.

What it is connected to

If something looks wrong

  • Create is refused with "Atleast one field select in Paramenters". Give at least one parameter.
