How do I set up manufacturing for a company?
Fill Manufacture and Controlling Setting with the issuance, receipt and resource journals, make the manufacturing units with their warehouse lines, and the operations and routings.
Before you start
- Transaction journals for issuance, receipt and vouchers (Transaction Journal).
- Sites and warehouses (Site and Warehouse).
- Resources with debit and credit accounts (Resource).
Steps
- On Manufacture and Controlling Setting, fill Journal For Issuance, Journal For Receive and Journal for Resource, or per site on the lines.
- Decide the switches: yield calculation, BOM-less orders, hiding BOM or routing, variant checks, transfer requests.
- On Manufacturing Unit, make each unit with its site and at least one line with an input and an output warehouse (leave category and type empty for a general line).
- Make the Operation records and a Routing per made item with resources and hours.
- On each made item, set the Manufacturing Unit.
Check it worked
- A manufacturing order for a made item gets its warehouses from the unit and can be released; its confirmation posts without asking for journals.
If something looks wrong
- "There is an problem in Production Unit Input/Output Warehouse" The unit has no matching line.
- "Please Define Issuance Journal in Setting" Fill the issuance journal.
