How do I make and release a manufacturing order?
On Manufacturing Order pick the category, type, item, quantity, unit and BOM, save, reserve the components, then press Release.
Before you start
- An approved Bill Of Material valid on the date.
- A Manufacturing Unit with warehouse lines.
- A default warehouse for each component on its item.
Steps
- Open Manufacturing Order and press New. It starts as Planned.
- Pick Manufacturing Category, Type (Standard), Manufacturing Date, Site, Item, Manufacturing Quantity and Manufacturing Unit, or pick a Plan to bring them in. Then Create.
- Pick the Bom/Formula and the Routing. The BOM lines fill in; use Adjustment Quantity for changes.
- Save.
- Reserve: on each component line use Reserve Inventory. For a Process Order with active ingredients, run Batch Balancing.
- Press Release. The reservations are booked, and a transfer request is raised when the site is set to.
Check it worked
- The order shows Released and can be picked on Manufacture Order Confirmation.
If something looks wrong
- "Please reserve the items" A component with reservation type Always Manual is not fully reserved.
- "Please run Batch Balancing" Balance the active ingredients.
- "Bom is not valid in given Plan Dates" The BOM is not valid on the date.
