Manufacturing Unit
A manufacturing unit: where something is made, on which site, and which warehouses feed it and take its output.
What it is for
Items, manufacturing orders, master plans, resources and the setting journals name a manufacturing unit.
What people get wrong: the order takes its warehouses from the lines, not the header. The order uses the first line whose Item Category is the item's category or empty and whose Type is the order type or empty, preferring a filled one. A unit without a matching line cannot give an order its warehouses, and the order is refused. Each line needs both warehouses.
Allow Reservation From Input Warehouse lets a manufacturing order reserve components from the input warehouse as well as from the item's default warehouse. The screen is not placed on any menu.

Scenarios
- A plant keeps raw materials in one store and finished goods in another. One line with empty category and type: input the raw store, output the finished store.
- Rework orders should come out into a quarantine store. Add a line with Type Rework and the quarantine store as output.
What it is connected to
- Manufacturing Order - takes its warehouses from here
- Release Item In Legal Entity - Manufacturing Unit on the item
- Master Planning - plans by unit
- Resource - resources belong to a unit
If something looks wrong
- "Line ID - ... Input Warehouse cannot be empty" / "... Ouput Warehouse cannot be empty" Fill both warehouses on every line.
- "There is an problem in Production Unit Input/Output Warehouse" on a manufacturing order. No line of the unit matches the item category and order type. Add a line with them empty.
