Manufacture and Controlling Setting

One document per company: the journals manufacturing posts through and the switches that shape the manufacturing screens.

Where
Manufacturing › Setting
Who uses it
The implementation consultant with the accountant
When
At setup, before the first manufacturing order
Needs first
Transaction journals of the right kinds (issuance, receipt, voucher, transfer) in the general ledger

What it is for

Manufacturing reads this document for the company you are logged in to. What each part does:

Production Confirmation Journal. Journal For Issuance is used for the automatic issue of components on a confirmation, Journal For Receive for the automatic receipt of the finished good, Journal for Resource for the voucher of resource cost. The lines below give an issuance and receive journal per site; they are used only when the company-wide journal above is empty. With no issuance journal the confirmation is refused; with no receive journal the finished good is simply not received automatically; with no resource journal and resource cost to post, the confirmation is refused.

Default Parameters.

  • Flushing Indicator: when set, every consumption line of a confirmation takes this indicator.
  • Required Packing Unit: when off, the Packaging part of the manufacturing order is not used.
  • Auto Create Transfer Request Automatically with Auto Transfer Request Journal: when you tick it and save, every site of the company is switched to create transfer requests for manufacturing; a released manufacturing order then raises a transfer request moving its components from their default warehouses to the order's input warehouse.
  • Required Opportunity: recorded; nothing reads it today.

Controlling.

  • Required Auto Yield Calculation on Confirmation: the confirmation splits the confirmed quantity into good and rejected by the order's batch yield.
  • Manufacturing order can processed without bom/formula: a Standard order may be saved without a Bom/Formula.
  • Hide BOM In Production Order / Hide Routing In Production Order: hide those parts on Standard orders and on confirmations.

Validation.

  • Require Item Variant: a bill of material line of a variant item must name the variant. With no setting document this check is on.
  • Require Item Variant in Manufacturing Order: the same on the order's lines; when off, the variant column is locked.
  • Hide Date From & Date To in Master Planning (PCPP): the copy from sales orders offers only approved orders and ignores the promise date range.
  • Required Multiple, Required Quatity and Required Multiple Base On: on Master Planning, a plan must hold several lines; see that page.

How to configure it

This screen is the configuration. One document per company.

Scenarios

  • A factory issues components automatically when output is confirmed. Set Journal For Issuance and Journal For Receive, and leave the BOM lines on flushing B.
  • Two plants post to different journals. Leave the company-wide journals empty and add one line per site.

What it is connected to

If something looks wrong

  • "Transfer Request Jounal is Mandatory" Auto Create Transfer Request is ticked. Pick the journal.
  • "... already exists" on Save. The company already has a setting document.
