Sales Channel
A sales channel is the route a sale came through: direct, through a dealer, through an agent, online.
What it is for
The channel is picked on a Sales Agreement to report sales by route. The two ticks on this screen, Required Dealer and Required Sales Team, are stored but nothing in the system reads them: picking a channel never makes Dealer or Sales Team required.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Sales Channel | The code | A short code. Required; unique |
| Name | What it is called | Dealer Network |
| Required Dealer | Meant to make Dealer required | Has no effect today |
| Required Sales Team | Meant to make Sales Team required | Has no effect today |
| Block | Marks the record as blocked | Tick to mark it blocked |
How to configure it
Nothing beyond the list.
Scenarios
- A developer sells through its own staff and through outside dealers. Keep each route, team or agent here so agreements can be reported by it.
What it is connected to
- Sales Agreement and Sales Agreement Request refer to it.
If something looks wrong
- Save refuses and marks the code. The code is empty, or another record of this screen already uses it. Codes must be unique; type a new one.
