Pricing Period
A pricing period is a date range, for example the launch price for January to March. A Pricing Profile is written for one period, and a sales agreement takes its price from the period its agreement date falls in.
What it is for
Periods must not overlap: a date may belong to one period only. That is what lets the system find a single price for an agreement date.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing Period | The code | A short code, for example 2026-Q1. Required |
| Date From | First day of the period | 01-01-2026. Required |
| Date To | Last day of the period | 31-03-2026 |
| Controller | The person who controls this period | Pick an employee |
| Notes | Free text | Launch prices |
How to configure it
Create the next period before the current one ends, starting the day after. The overlap check compares against every period in the system.
Scenarios
- Prices rise every quarter. Make one period per quarter and one pricing profile per period.
What it is connected to
- Pricing Profile is written for one pricing period.
If something looks wrong
- "Pricing Period - Date From cannot be greater than Date TO". The dates are the wrong way round. Swap them.
- "Pricing Period already Exist". The new dates touch an existing period. Move the dates so no day is in two periods.
