Property Category
A property category is the broadest class of a unit: residential, commercial, plot. It sits above Property Type and Property Sub Type, and units, prices and maintenance rates can all be set by it.
What it is for
Categories group units for pricing, maintenance rates and reports. A Pricing Profile line and a Maintenance Pricing Agreement line can both be written for a category instead of for each unit.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Property Category | The code | A short code, for example RES. Required |
| Name | What it is called | Residential. Required |
How to configure it
Nothing to configure beyond the list itself. The screen layout also places a Property and a Block field, but neither is set up on this screen, so they are never shown.
Scenarios
- A mixed-use project has shops on the ground floor and flats above. Make two categories, Commercial and Residential, and set each unit to one of them.
What it is connected to
- Property lists the categories, types and sub types its units use.
- Real Estate Unit carries one category.
If something looks wrong
- Create refuses with "Please Fill Required Fields". A field the screen marks as required in the top part is empty. Fill the marked fields, then Create again.
