Product Information Setting
One document per company that sets how the item and pricing screens behave there.
What it is for
Several switches on the item screens read this document for the company you are logged in to. If a company has no document, the item screens behave as if every switch is off.
What each switch does:
- Required In Item Master Default Site, Warehouse: an item released in this company must have at least one Item Storage Structure line, and one marked Default.
- Quantity based Price: on Pricing Profile the Quantity and Price for Quantity columns appear and Price itself is no longer typed.
- Allow Item Variant Duplication: two variants of one item may have the same name.
- Required Item Name Duplication with Required Item Name Duplication Based On: off, no two items of the company may share a name. On with Part Number, a name may repeat only with a different part number; with Catalogue Number, only with a different catalogue number. On with nothing chosen, names may repeat freely.
- Packing Group Calculation, Hide Advertisement From Report and Show Part No In Report are recorded; nothing reads them today.

Field Value
Per-company field rules for the Product Information screens. Each line names a screen and a field and can give a default value, make it required, grey it out or hide it. A user's own default for a field replaces the company line for that user.

How to configure it
This screen is the configuration. Make one document per company. It is not placed on any menu in the standard configuration.
Scenarios
- A retailer's auditors insist on a default store for every item. Tick Required In Item Master Default Site, Warehouse.
- An auto-parts dealer has the same name for parts of different makers. Tick Required Item Name Duplication and choose Part Number.
- A company wants Item Group to start as GEN for every new item. Add a Field Value line: the item screen, the Item Group field, value GEN.

If something looks wrong
- "... already exists" on Save. The company already has a setting document. Open it.
