How do I hold received goods until quality has passed them?

Mark the item as needing quality, set up an inspection group and a quality point for its receipt movement and site. Each receipt then lands in quality status with an inspection order; releasing the order opens or rejects the batch.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Create the tests on Inspection and the sample size on Sampling Instruction.
  2. Create the Inspection Group: headings, tests in sequence, limits, Required Mandatory.
  3. Create the Quality Point for the item (or its quality group), module, site, receipt movement and inspection group. Set Process Block to invoice if the vendor invoice must wait.
  4. Receive the goods. The line goes to quality status and an inspection order appears.
  5. Open the Quality Inspection Order, enter results, Save, and release it.

Check it worked

  • As On Inventory with View Stock Status shows the batch as open (passed) or rejected (failed).

If something looks wrong

  • "Quality Point is not configured of item ..." at receipt - step 3 is missing for that site and movement.
  • The batch stays in quality. The inspection order is saved but not released.
