How do I add freight, duty or clearing costs to goods already received?
Open Cost Revaluation, pick the receipt lines, add one cost line per charge with the account it is credited to and how to spread it, and Save. The receipts' value goes up by their share.
Before you start
- The freight or duty bill is posted to a clearing account on a Vendor Invoice or a General Entry.
- Landed cost must be added before the period's Inventory Closing, so issues of the period carry it.
Steps
- Open Cost Revaluation, New, Posting Date (not before the receipts) and journal, Create.
- Add each receipt line under Transaction No.
- Add each cost: Account (the clearing account), Cost Element, Allocation Base (by quantity, value, weight, volume, equally...), Allocation Value.
- Open Allocation on a receipt line to check its share, then Save.
