How do I undo a stock document saved by mistake?

Press Reverse on the document's toolbar, give a reverse date (not before the posting date, in an open period), a reason and remarks. Documents raised from it must be reversed first, newest first.

Before you start

  • Most stock documents cannot be edited or deleted once saved; Reverse is the way back. Setup screens and requests can be edited.
  • Reverse in this order: invoice or memo, then delivery return, then the delivery or receipt. For transfer orders: receipt, then shipment.

Steps

  1. Open the document and press Reverse.
  2. Give Reverse Date, Reason and Remarks and confirm.

Check it worked

  • The document shows it is reversed, and a reversing document with the same lines the other way exists with its voucher.

If something looks wrong

  • "Reverse Date: ... cannot be less than Posting Date: ..."
  • "Only Posted Vouchers can be reversed"
  • "Cannot Reversed System Generated Vouchers" - reverse the document that created it.
  • "Basic Data - Line ID : ... - Stock not available till reverse date : Transaction cannot revere available Quantity is ..." - the stock it brought in has already gone out. Reverse those issues first, or adjust instead.
  • "... cannot be Reverse. Following Invoice Transactions has been raised against it: ..." - reverse the invoice first.
  • "You cannot Reverse this document." - an Item Revaluation; revalue again instead.
  • "Inventory is Closed of this Period" - the reverse date is in a closed period.
