How do I deliver goods to a customer?
Open Item Issue To Sales Order, pick the customer and the order (or the registered picking list), confirm quantities and batches, and Save. Stock goes out at cost, and the invoice follows when the Sales setting asks for it.
Before you start
- Know whether the company delivers straight from the sales order or through picking: the Sales setting decides. See Sales and Distribution Setting.
- For picked deliveries: Picking List and Picking List Registration are done.
Steps
- Open Item Issue To Sales Order and press New.
- Fill Posting Date, Transaction Journal, Site, Warehouse, Customer and Sale Order, then Create.
- Confirm the Movement Quantity on each line. Leave Batch empty to let the system take batches, or pick one.
- Fill the carrier, driver and vehicle for the gate.
- Save.
Check it worked
- The sales order shows the quantity delivered.
- With automatic invoice on issuance, the sales invoice exists (Customer Invoice).
- Print the Delivery Challan and Gate Pass from the print button.

Undoing it is Reverse on the toolbar, after reversing any invoice and delivery return raised against it.
If something looks wrong
- "There is no Issuance available on site ..." - nothing open for that site and warehouse.
- "Basic Data - Item (...) ... - Stock not available ..." - not enough open stock; the message adds why a batch was left out.
- "Please select Order lines" - add at least one order line.
