What is Functional Area Dimension in Businessflo​

The Functional Area Dimension is a categorization or classification system used in financial reporting and analysis. It represents different Functional Areas or responsibilities within an organization, such as sales, marketing, research and development, production, or administration. The Functional Area Dimension helps in organizing and analyzing financial data based on these functional areas, allowing for better insights into the financial performance and cost allocation within different parts of the organization. It is commonly used in management reporting, budgeting, and decision-making processes to understand the financial impact and performance of various Functional Areas within the organization.

How to Create a Functional Area in Businessflo​

  • Module: OS - Organization Structure
  • Process Code: OSFD - Functional Area Dimension

There are two options available to navigate to this screen.

  • Click on Organization Structure -> Enterprise Structure -> Functional Area Dimension
  • Write the process code for this screen in the search bar which will navigate you here directly.

The list shows the Functional Areas already being created in the system. Now either you can click on new button to create a new Functional Area or you can select from the list of corresponding Functional Areas to view, edit or delete it.

To create a new functional area, fill in the necessary details:

Now click on Save to save the information provided.
