How do I have sales orders plan production?

Tick Auto Create Plan from Sales Order, or Auto Create Plan & MO from Sales Order, on the sales setting. A released Sales Order then keeps a Master Planning plan per site for its make-to-order items, and with the second switch opens their manufacturing orders.

Steps​

  1. Tick one of the two switches on Sales and Distribution Setting.
  2. On the Sales Order, add the make-to-order item and its bill of material lines on the line.
  3. Save to release. Planned Quantity is the ordered quantity less what is reserved.
  4. Open Master Planning in Products and manufacturing to see the plan. See also Plan to produce.

Check it worked​

  • A plan for the order's site lists the line, with the order's required date.
  • Lowering the order quantity changes the plan; removing the line takes it off.

If something looks wrong​

  • "Line ID - ... Bom Lines need to define" - add the bill of material lines.
  • "Sales Order: ... cannot be deleted. It is referred in Master Planning: ..." - remove the plan lines first.
