How do I reserve stock for a sales order?

Switch Reservation on in the sales setting. Set a line's Reservation Type to reserve always and Save: the line reserves free stock, then open purchase order quantity. Or reserve by hand from the line's reservation button.

Steps​

  1. Tick Reservation on Sales and Distribution Setting. Tick Cross-Warehouse Reservation to reserve from any site and warehouse.
  2. On the Sales Order line, pick the Reservation Type that always reserves.
  3. Save. Reservation Quantity shows what was reserved.
  4. To pick the batch or warehouse yourself, use the line's reserve button before Save.

Check it worked​

  • Reservation Quantity is filled; the Reservation Details list shows the reservation.

If something looks wrong​

  • "... Cannot Reserve this line, Reservation Type is None" - change the type, or remove the hand reservation.
  • "Line ID - ... Stock is not available for reservation please process again for reservation" - the stock you picked is gone; reserve again.
  • The line reserved nothing - no free stock or open purchase order in its site and warehouse; or Delivery Stop is ticked.
