How do I invoice automatically when goods are delivered?

On the sales setting, tick Sales Delivery For Local (and for Export if needed) and pick the Transaction Journal. Each saved Item Issue To Sales Order then raises its Customer Invoice. A Memo Journal makes each Sales Return raise its Customer Invoice Memo.

Customer invoice and memo journals in Receivables

Steps

  1. Open Sales and Distribution Setting and Edit.
  2. Tick Sales Delivery For Local, and Sales Delivery for Export for foreign customers.
  3. Pick the Transaction Journal, now required.
  4. Pick a Memo Journal if returns should be credited by themselves.
  5. Tick the Break Auto Invoice On boxes that should split invoices: address, payment term, payment method, sales organization.
  6. Save.

Check it worked

  • After the next Item Issue To Sales Order, the Customer Invoice exists in Receivables.

What posts

Nothing in the sales setting posts. The Customer Invoice raised by the issue posts as any Customer Invoice does; see What posts in receivables. Undoing a posting is Reverse on the toolbar of that document.

If something looks wrong

  • No invoice appeared - the switch for that customer kind (local or export) is off, or the order line was already fully invoiced, or the line is a free line whose Special Indicator is not invoiced.
