Sales Territory
A sales territory is a patch a salesperson or team covers, with its responsible person.
What it is for
Sales territories are picked on addresses and on customer documents. They stand on their own: nothing ties a territory to an area or region.
Every field in plain words
General
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Sales Territory | The code that identifies the sales territory. You type it on New, before Create. | Required. A short code; it cannot be changed once the record exists. |
| Name | The name of the sales territory, shown next to the code wherever it is picked. | Required. |
| Responsible | The person responsible for the territory. | Optional. Pick from the Responsible list. |
| Block | Marks the sales territory as blocked. | Tick or leave clear. The pick lists other screens use for it do not check this tick, so a blocked record can still be picked. |
How to configure it
The screen allows import, so a long list can be loaded from a file instead of typed. Which fields are required, greyed, hidden or pre-filled for a company is set on Organizational Structure Setting, in its Default Parameters grid, and one user can differ through User Parameter Value.
