Inter Unit Sales Organization

When one company of the group sells to another, the sales order can raise the matching purchase order by itself. This table, one per company, says which purchase organization and purchase group that purchase order gets for each sales organization and sales group.

What it is for

A sales order to a customer flagged as an inter-company customer (with its vendor account in the other company) looks up the order’s Sales Organization and Sales Group here. The purchase order it raises takes the line’s To Purchase Organization and To Purchase Group, and the default site of that purchase organization.

The rule people get wrong: with no matching line, or a purchase organization with no default site, the sales order refuses to save with “Inter Company Order: Sales Organization is not Configure correctly”.

Scenarios

  • A manufacturer sells finished goods to its own distribution company. Flag the distribution company as an inter-company customer, then add a line here from the manufacturer’s sales organization and group to the purchase organization and group the purchase order should carry.

What it is connected to

If something looks wrong

  • The sales order says “Inter Company Order: Sales Organization is not Configure correctly”. No line here matches the order’s sales organization and sales group, or the purchase organization has no default site. Add the line, or tick a default site on the purchase organization.
