How do I add a new building and its units?

Create the property on Property, generate its units on Units, then complete each unit on Real Estate Unit.

Before you start​

  • Property Type records.
  • The unit of measure the sizes are in, such as sqft.

Steps​

  1. Open Property (Real Estate › Property › Property), give the code, name, project and address, and list the floors and buildings. Save.
  2. Open Units (not on the menu; search for the screen) and create a run for the property. Add a parameter line per level, for example Floor 1 to 12 with prefix B-, Flat 1 to 6 with prefix -.
  3. Press generate on the Unit tab and check the list, for example B-1-1 to B-12-6.
  4. Save. One unit is created per line. Save the run only once: a second save tries to create the same units again and is refused.
  5. Open each unit on Real Estate Unit and set Property Type, Unit, Unit Quantity, Floor and the use ticks. Save.

Check it worked​

  • The units appear in the Real Estate Unit list (Real Estate › Unit).
  • A new sales agreement for the property offers them in Unit No.

If something looks wrong​

  • "Same Property Unit already exists in Property ..." The unit number exists already. Change the pattern, or delete the run's previous units first.
  • A unit is missing from the agreement lookup. It is blocked, reserved, marked for buy back sale or already sold.
