How do I get the invoice made automatically when goods are received?

Tick Auto Invoice on Receiving in Account Payable Setting and pick a Transaction Journal that allows several purchase orders. Each receipt then raises its invoice, with the receipt number as the vendor bill number.

A vendor invoice journal that allows several purchase orders

Before you start

  • The vendors have payment term and method.

Steps

  1. Open Account Payable Setting.
  2. Tick Auto Invoice on Receiving and pick Transaction Journal.
  3. Save.

Check it worked

  • After the next receipt, the Vendor Invoice list shows an invoice for it, dated the receipt's posting date, with the journal's default posting status.

If something looks wrong

  • No invoice appears. The journal does not allow several purchase orders, or a quality setting on the item blocks invoicing. Without the setting, invoices are still raised per purchase organization when that organization names an invoice journal that allows several purchase orders; those come as Park.
  • Free-of-charge lines are not invoiced.
