How do I set up the system to store goods for customers (3PL)?
Fill four lists in the 3PL Warehouse module, in this order: Unit, Warehouse, Warehouse Zone, Item. The customer must already exist. An Account per customer is optional and only for reference.
Before you start
- Each storage customer exists as a customer of the company (Customer In Legal Entity).
- You have each customer's product list with units, carton sizes and whether they are batch-tracked.
Steps
- Open Unit and add the units:
PCSPiece,CTNCarton,PLTPallet. The list is shared by all companies. - Open Warehouse and add one record per building, with its address.
- Open Warehouse Zone and add the zones of each building, such as
KHI-CH1. Every document line needs a zone, so each building needs at least one. - Open Item and add each product: code with the customer's prefix, Customer, Name, Inventory Unit, the carton and pallet factors on Units, and Required Batch where the goods carry lots.
- Optionally open Account to record the customer's agreed payment term and method.
Check it worked
- On a new Warehouse Receipt, the customer, the items, the units, the warehouse and the zones are all offered.
If something looks wrong
- A unit is not offered on the item. It is blocked on Unit.
- The item's Currency lookup lists units. As shipped. Leave Currency empty.
