How do I record goods arriving for a customer?
Create a Warehouse Receipt for the customer, fill the carrier and driver, add a line per item and batch with the quantity, warehouse and zone, and Save. The receipt is the record of the arrival; it posts nothing and builds no stock balance.
Steps
- Open Warehouse Receipt (3PL Warehouse › Receipt › Warehouse Receipt) and press New.
- Fill the header: Transaction, Transaction Date, Transaction Time and Customer are required. Name fills in from Customer. Put the customer's advance shipping notice number in Customer Reference.
- On Carrier, type the Carrier, Tracking Number, Driver and Driver Licence Number. On Entities, the Shipper and the clearing Agent.
- On Basic Data, add a line per item and batch:
- Item: pick it. Name and Unit fill in.
- Unit: change it to Carton if the goods came in cartons.
- Movement Quantity: the count in that unit, such as 40.
- Batch/Serial Number: the lot number, required for items with Required Batch.
- Warehouse and Warehouse Zone: where the goods were put.
- Chamber, Temperature, Weight as recorded at the door.
- Save.
Check it worked
- The receipt is in the Warehouse Receipt list, and prints on Warehouse Receipt (Form).
If something looks wrong
- "Basic Data Lines cannot be empty" - add at least one line.
- "Basic Data - Line ID: ... - Batch Number cannot be empty" - the item needs a batch on every line.
- I picked the wrong zone. Edit the receipt, change the line, Save. The receipt has no Reverse.
