How do I find which bin a batch is in?

Scan the batch label (06 followed by the batch number) while no screen that takes scans is open: the Warehouse Map opens on the bin holding that batch. Or open the Warehouse Map and type the batch number in the Batch criteria.

Steps

  1. Scan the label with a handheld scanner while the open screen does not take scans itself, such as the home page.
    • A code that starts with 06 opens the Warehouse Map with the batch in the Batch criteria. Any other code is ignored here.
  2. Or open the Warehouse Map yourself, type the batch number in Batch, with or without the 06, and load the list.
  3. Read the map. Only the warehouse that holds the batch is drawn, and the bin holding it opens picked. The side panel shows what the bin holds: item, description, batch, expiry, quantity and unit.

Check it worked

  • The picked bin's panel lists the batch with its quantity.

If something looks wrong

  • Every warehouse is shown. No bin holds that batch: its stock was never moved with a storage location, or it has none left. The map then draws every warehouse.
  • The scan did something else. A screen that takes scans was open, and handled the code itself. Close it or go to the home page.
  • The warehouse is not on the map at all. It has no Storage Location Structure. See Set up the bins of a warehouse.
