How do I add bins to a warehouse that is already set up?

Edit the warehouse's Storage Location Structure, raise End Value on the level that grew, and Save. Only the missing locations are added. Existing ones keep their capacity and hold, and none is ever removed by Save.

Steps​

  1. Open Storage Location Structure for the warehouse and press Edit.
  2. Change the range on the Structure tab. Two new aisles: End Value on the Aisle line from 3 to 5. A new level of bins on every shelf: add a line Structures Bin, Prefix B, 1 to 4.
  3. Save.
    • Adding a level changes every code. With a new Bin line, W1-A01-R01-S01 is no longer generated; W1-A01-R01-S01-B01 to -B04 are added beside it. The old codes stay, so delete the lines you no longer want, once no stock sits in them.
  4. For a single odd bin, add a line on Location Detail by hand: type Storage Location, and fill Aisle, Rack, Shelf and Bin so the warehouse map can place it. Save keeps it.

Check it worked​

  • Location Detail has the new codes at the end, and the old lines are unchanged.

If something looks wrong​

  • The bins of the aisle I removed are still there. Save never removes a location. Delete those lines yourself.
  • A new bin has the wrong capacity. New lines take the header's Capacity at the time of Save. Change it on the line.
