What posts in CRM and expenses
Only Post Expense Submission posts. Leads, expense claims and subscription agreements never reach the accounts.
| Document | When | Debit | Credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Post Expense Submission | Save, on the Transaction Journal, with its Posting Status (Park or Posted) | The lines' Account, which is each expense category's expense account, and the tax lines, as the post keys of this screen place them | The header's Account, which is the payment source's account, as the post keys place it |
Where the accounts come from
- The expense account of a line: the Expense Category picked on the Expense Submission line, from the category's expense account. Categories are kept on Category and Category Group in Company setup.
- The payment source account: Payment Source, field Account. The claim copies it on every save.
- The tax accounts and which side each amount falls on: the process post keys of Post Expense Submission (Process Post Key) and the Posting Profile, in the general ledger setup.
- The journal: Transaction Journal on the document, defaulted from Expense Management Setting.
Undoing a posting
Reverse on the toolbar of a Posted Post Expense Submission. It asks for a Reverse Date (not before the Posting Date), a reason and remarks, writes the reversing voucher and fills Reverse Voucher No. The claim's lines are free to be changed and posted again. A posting that is still parked cannot be reversed; Delete it, and its voucher goes with it.
Documents that never post
- Expense Submission - the claim. It only collects and approves; Post This Expense creates the posting document.
- Lead and every CRM screen - revenue on a lead is a forecast.
- Subscription Agreement - its services carry accounts, but nothing posts or invoices from it.
