How do I mark a lead won or lost?

Move the lead into the stage whose Stage Type is Won (or Lost) on its pipeline. Won Date (or Lost Date) is set to today, a won lead's Close Date becomes the same day, and a won lead is locked.

Steps

  1. Move the lead into the Won or Lost stage, as in Move a lead to another stage.
  2. Check the dates. Won Date is today and Close Date matches it; or Lost Date is today.

What a won lead can no longer do

  • Edit and Delete are greyed out; a save is refused with "This lead is won and is locked. A won lead cannot be changed."
  • Its close date cannot be changed: "This lead is won and is locked. Its close date cannot be changed."
  • It leaves the Won stage only by a move the pipeline allows from Won: a Stage Rules line from the Won stage, Allowed ticked (best with Based on Approval). Without one: "This lead is won (Won) and is locked. It cannot be moved to Lost."

Moving a lead out of Won or Lost to an open stage clears Won Date and Lost Date.

Check it worked

  • The stage tag reads won or lost; the CRM board's Conversion Rate and won figures count the lead from its Won Date.
