How do I enter a new lead?
On Lead, fill the header (Start Date, Close Date, Pipeline, Lead Stage, Lead Source, Lead Owner, Customer, Lead Project), press Create, then add at least one line on Lead Detail with the Sale Category, Principal, Business Area and Revenue, and Save.
Before you start
- A Pipeline with its stages.
- The customer exists in this company (Customer In Legal Entity). A lead cannot be created without one.
- Sale categories, principals and business areas for the lines.

- Fill the header. Start Date today; Close Date the expected close, for example the end of next month; Pipeline; Lead Stage the first stage; Lead Source picked from the list; Customer; Lead Project, for example Warehouse racking.
- Name fills itself as Search Name - Lead Project - Start Date.
- Start Date, Close Date, Pipeline and Lead Owner cannot be changed after Create.
- Create.
- On Lead Detail, add a line per principal or product line. Sale Category, Revenue 50,000, Profit Percentage 18 (Profit Amount becomes 9,000), Principal, Business Area, and the Vendor it is bought through. Click Collaborators to add colleagues.
- Save.
Check it worked
- The line at the top shows the Revenue total and the stage.
- Stage History shows "Created in" the first stage.
- The lead is on the board in its stage's column.
If something looks wrong
- "Please Fill Required Fields" at Create. Most often the Customer is empty: Search Name, which is required, comes only from it.
- "Lead Source is required. Pick one of Self, Principal, Vendor/Distributor, Email, Events or Calls." Pick the source from the list.
- "Vendor grid lines cannot be empty." Add a line.
