Process Post Key
Process Post Key is the recipe for the voucher of one posting screen. Each line says: take this amount from this part of the document, post it with this post key, on this side, and find the account in this posting category (or on the document itself). It is an implementer's screen and is delivered for every posting screen.
What it is for
When a posting document of any module is saved, the system opens this recipe by the document's screen code and builds a General Entry from it. A screen with no recipe cannot post.
How each recipe line is used:
- It takes the amount in Object No from each row of the part of the document named in Table Name (the header, or each line).
- A row with a zero amount is skipped. With PostKey Indicator filled, a row is used only when its PostKey Indicator Field (or its post key indicator) equals that value.
- The side is DCInd, or, with D/C Ind. based on value ticked, the (+ve) side for a positive amount and the (-ve) side for a negative one.
- The account is the document's own account (Self Account ticked, read from Account Object No) or the account the Posting Profile of the Posting Category gives for this post key and side.
- Copy Line Text copies the row's line text, or the header text, to the voucher line.
The finished voucher is summarised when the journal's Posting Level asks for it, then saved through General Entry with all its checks.
