Automatic Transaction

Automatic Transaction holds, for one company, accounts that the ledger uses by itself, against a post key. The two that matter are the inter-unit accounts: G70 (inter-unit debit) and G71 (inter-unit credit).

What it is for

When Ledger Setup has a Balancing Financial Dimension (for example the business area or the site), every voucher must balance per value of that dimension. General Entry adds the balancing lines on the G70 and G71 accounts set here. Without both, such a voucher is refused.

Saving a change to the G70 or G71 line also refreshes the inter-unit ranges on Ledger Setup.

  • "Inter Unit Accounting is configured, Cannot use this account" You typed an inter-unit account on a voucher. The ledger posts to it by itself.
