City
City holds the cities picked on addresses, customers, vendors, sites and warehouses.
What it is for
Each city belongs to a country, and optionally a state. Predefined rows ship with the product and cannot be deleted; rows you add can.
Every field in plain words
General
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| City | The code that identifies the city. You type it on New, before Create. | Required. A short code; it cannot be changed once the record exists. |
| Name | The name of the city, shown next to the code wherever it is picked. | Required. |
| Country | The country. | Required. Pick from the Country list. |
| State | The state, if the country has them. | Optional. Pick from the State list. |
| Calling Code | The city’s dialling code. | Optional. Nothing reads it today. |
| Predefined | Shipped with the product. | Filled in by the system; you cannot type here. |
How to configure it
The screen allows import, so a long list can be loaded from a file instead of typed. Which fields are required, greyed, hidden or pre-filled for a company is set on Organizational Structure Setting, in its Default Parameters grid, and one user can differ through User Parameter Value.
