Consumption Unit is a list of the units an asset's use is measured in: machine hours, kilometres, cycles.

What it is for

No other screen in the delivered configuration picks a consumption unit, and depreciation is not worked out from use. Only straight line and reducing balance are calculated. The list is kept for reference only.

How to configure it

Nothing has to be set here for the fixed asset process to work. Fill it only if the company keeps the list for its own records.

Scenarios

  • A transport company wants trucks depreciated per kilometre driven. Not supported: depreciation by use is not calculated. Use straight line over the expected life on the Asset Group.

What it is connected to

If something looks wrong

  • The save is refused on the code. The code is missing or already used. Each code can be used once.
