Acquisition Method
Acquisition Method is a list of the ways an asset can come into the company: bought, built in-house, received as a gift, taken on lease. It is a reference list you keep for your own records.
What it is for
No other screen in the delivered configuration picks an acquisition method: neither the asset nor the acquisition has a field for it. The list is kept for reference only.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Acquisition Method | The code | PUR, DON. Required |
| Name | What the method is | Purchased. Required |
| Notes | Anything to remember about it | Free text |
| Block | Stops it being picked | Tick to retire it |
How to configure it
Nothing has to be set here for the fixed asset process to work. Fill it only if the company keeps the list for its own records.
Scenarios
- A company wants to know which assets were donated. The method cannot be set on the asset. Use the Remarks of the Asset Master for now.
What it is connected to
- Fixed asset how-to pages - the order to set the module up.
If something looks wrong
- The save is refused on the code. The code is missing or already used. Each code can be used once.
