How do I bill a customer for a service or anything not shipped from stock?
On Customer Invoice, pick a free-text transaction journal and the customer, press Create, add one line per charge with its Account, Unit, Quantity, Price and Tax Group, and Save with Posting Status Posted.
Steps
- Open Customer Invoice and press New.
- Pick the Transaction Journal for free-text invoices and the Posting Date.
- Pick the Customer. Tax zone, payment term and method, currency and addresses fill in. Check Reference (the customer's purchase order number).
- Press Create.
- Add the lines. Account "Consultancy income", Unit "Each", Quantity 1, Price 150,000, Tax Group for services.
- Add charges with the Cost Elements toolbar, or a header discount, if any.
- Save with Posting Status Posted. Choose Park instead to post later.
Check it worked
- The invoice shows Net Receivable Amount and a Due Date; it appears on the Customer Invoice list and on the customer's ledger, and is offered on the next Collection.
