How do I control what can be posted to an account?

Every control is on the account's release in the company: Block, Date From and Date To, Validate Currency, Validate Ledger Balance with Manual Entry. A block on the account master stops it in every company.

Needs first
The account released to the company

Steps

  1. Open the account on Release Account in Legal Entity and Edit.
  2. Pick the control.
    • Stop all postings in this company: tick Block.
    • Stop postings after a date: set Date To.
    • Keep journal vouchers off a control account: tick Validate Ledger Balance and leave Manual Entry unticked. Manual Entry is only checked when Validate Ledger Balance is ticked.
    • Keep a debit-balance account from going into credit: tick Validate Ledger Balance. The side comes from the Balance Control set when the account was made on Account in Legal Entity.
    • Only one currency on a bank account: tick Validate Currency and fill Currency.
  3. Save.

If something looks wrong

  • "Line ID: ... - Account ... is blocked in Legal Entity" Block is ticked on the release.
  • "Manual Entry is not allowed on Account: ..." Post through the document that owns the account.
  • "Line ID: ... - Account: ... - Balance Control validation failed" The voucher would take the balance to the wrong side. The balance compared is the account's balance in all companies together.
  • "... transaction cannot process on different currency" The line's currency is not the account's.
