Sales Origin
The Copy From buttons on the sales order lines (from a quotation, an agreement, another order, or an invoice for a return) each read one Sales Origin line. The line names the lookup that lists the source documents, the lookup that lists their lines, and whether several may be picked at once.
What it is for
A Copy From button with no Sales Origin line answers "You don't have rights". So each source the client uses needs its line here.
The one rule people get wrong: the User Group grid does not limit anyone. Nothing reads it today. Rights to the button come from the user's rights.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Process Code | The source: the Copy From button it serves | Pick from the screens |
| Help Object | The lookup that lists the source documents | Pick from the lookups |
| Helpobject Lines | The lookup that lists the chosen documents' lines | Pick from the lookups |
| Predefine | Recorded on the line | Nothing reads it |
| Required Multiple | Let the user pick several documents at once | |
| Block | Recorded on the line | Copy From does not check it |
| User Group | User groups, one per line | Nothing reads it |
How to configure it
Add one line per Copy From button the client uses on the Sales Order: from Sales Quotation, from Sale Agreement, from another Sales Order, and, for Return Orders, the source of returned lines.
What it is connected to
- Sales Order - its Copy From buttons.
If something looks wrong
- "You don't have rights" on a Copy From button - there is no Sales Origin line for that source.
- The Copy From window lists nothing - the lookups named on the line return no open documents for this customer, date and currency.
