Item Issue To Picking List

The store issue. Goods picked on a Picking List for an internal need (an item requirement from a department, materials for production) are issued here. Save takes them out of stock and posts their cost.

A picking list with open picked quantity; stock on hand

What it is for

It turns a pick into an issue. The quantity issued per picking line can never exceed what is left on it. Sales deliveries are not made here: the sales issue movement is refused, and goes through Item Issue To Sales Order.

How the document is built

New, fill Posting Date, Transaction Journal, Movement (any issue movement other than the sales one), Site, Warehouse and the picking list in Origin no, then Create. If no picking list is open for that site and warehouse: "There is no Picking List available on site ...". The picked lines come in; adjust the quantities and Save.

What happens on Save

Stock goes down at its average cost, batches are drawn as on every issue, and the voucher is posted. See How stock documents work.

What it is connected to

If something looks wrong

  • "Movement IIS052 cannot processed" - the sales issue movement belongs on Item Issue To Sales Order.
  • "Basic Data - Item ... Required Quantity: ... cannot exceed Balance Quantity: ... in Picking List: ..." - more than is left on the picking line.
  • "Basic Data - Item ... is not defined in Picking List: ..."
  • "Issuance Line ID: ... - Posting Date: ... cannot be smaller then Item Requirement Posting Date: ..."
  • "Line ID: ... is duplicated with Line ID: ..." - two lines for the same picking line and batch.
  • "This Transaction is already posted" - a posted issue cannot be saved again. Reverse it.
