Inventory Movement Request

A request for an Inventory Movement. The requester names the items, the movements and the reason; the accounts are worked out from the journal on Save. The store then copies the request into the actual movement, in one go or in parts.

Who uses it
A department, a project, a store
When
Before goods are taken from the store for internal use
Needs first
A journal whose movements carry an offset account

What it is for

It separates asking from doing. Nothing moves and nothing posts on Save. The request keeps track of how much of each line has been moved.

The one rule people get wrong: once a movement has been made from a request, the request is held to it. Its date cannot change, a line already moved cannot be removed or changed to another item, and its quantity cannot go below what was moved. A referred request cannot be deleted.

Every field in plain words

The header has Posting Date, Transaction Journal, Movement, Site, Warehouse, Notes, Responsibility Central, Responsible and Project, and Vendor or Customer when the journal asks for one. The lines have Movement, Reason, Special Indicator, Item No, Item Variant, Name, Stock Category, Stock Status, Storage Location, Movement Unit, DCInd, Movement Quantity (more than zero), Cost Price, Catch Weight Quantity, Batch/Serial Number with its dates, project fields and Line Text.

On Save the offset account of each line is taken from the journal's movement line, and its dimensions are checked against that account.
