Adjustment Request

A request for a stock correction, with the same lines as Inventory Adjustment: movement, reason, item, quantity, cost. It is checked like an adjustment, but it moves no stock and posts nothing.

What it is for

It records what someone asks to be corrected, and why. The checks are the adjustment's: each line needs a movement, the movement's reason rule applies, and catch-weight items need their weight within range.

The one rule people get wrong: nothing turns a request into an adjustment. No screen copies from it. Once it is agreed, the adjustment is entered on Inventory Adjustment.

Every field in plain words

The header has Posting Date, Transaction Journal, Site, Warehouse and Notes. The lines are the adjustment's: Movement, Reason, Special Indicator, Item No, Item Variant, Name, Stock Category, Stock Status, Storage Location, Movement Unit, DCInd, Movement Quantity, Cost Price, Catch Weight Quantity, Batch/Serial Number with its dates, and Line Text. The request cannot be edited after Save.

If something looks wrong

  • "Line ID: ... Movement cannot be emtpy"
  • "Line ID: ... - Reason is mandatory for Movement: ..."
  • "Line ID: ... - Catch Weight Quantity ... cannot be less than ..." / "... cannot be greater than ..."
