Request Change Lead Close Date
A request to change one lead's expected close date, kept as a document with the reason, so the pipeline's dates are not moved silently.
What it is for
A lead's Close Date drives the board's forecast of what is expected to close and when. It is fixed when the lead is created and cannot be edited on the lead afterwards. It changes only through this request, which keeps the old date, the new date and the reason.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Request No | The request's number |
| Lead | The lead to re-date |
| Close Date | The new close date asked for |
| Previous Close Date | The close date the lead had |
| Notes | The reason typed in the dialog |
| Lead Owner, Customer | Copied from the lead |
| Payment Term, Payment Method, Revenue, Profit Percentage, Profit Amount | Copied from the lead at the moment of the request |
What happens
- With no approval set up for this screen, the lead's Close Date changes as soon as the request is saved.
- With an approval, it changes when the request is approved.
- A won lead's close date is its won date and cannot be changed: the request is refused.
What it is connected to
- Lead - raises the request; its Close Date is changed by it.
If something looks wrong
- "The new close date cannot be earlier than the lead date." The new date is before the lead's Start Date.
- "This lead is won and is locked. Its close date cannot be changed." The lead is in the Won stage.
