Release Customer In Legal Entity

A customer that already exists in the group is released into this company here. The customer's name, category, group and basic data come from the shared Customer and cannot be changed; everything this company decides about the customer (terms, credit, tax, pricing, sales structure, portal item access) is filled in here.

What it is for

It keeps one customer for the whole group. The Customer list on this screen offers only customers that are not yet in this company. Picking one brings in its name, category, group, basic data, addresses, contacts, bank details, registrations and portal settings.

The one rule people get wrong: basic data (language, industry, country, the descriptive ticks, opening and closing times) is read-only here. Change it on Customer.

Every field in plain words

The tabs and fields are the same as on Customer In Legal Entity, with these differences.

Addresses, contacts and bank details you change here are saved to the shared customer, so every company sees the change. Registrations are saved per company.

How to configure it

Same as Customer In Legal Entity: the four optional tabs and the field defaults come from Account Receivable Setting.

Scenarios

  • Your trading company starts selling to a customer of your manufacturing company. Open this screen in the trading company, pick the customer, set the trading company's payment term, payment method, tax zone and credit, and save.
  • The customer is missing from the Customer list. It is already in this company. Open it on Customer In Legal Entity instead.

What it is connected to

  • Customer supplies the shared data and receives address, contact, bank and portal changes.
  • Customer In Legal Entity holds the same kind of record for a customer created in this company.
  • Sales Order - reads the credit limit, credit area and sale agreement controls; see Order to cash.

If something looks wrong

The messages are the same as on Customer In Legal Entity.

  • I cannot change the customer's language or country. Basic data belongs to the shared customer. Change it on Customer.
  • Payment Term is empty after picking the customer. Terms are per company. Fill Payment Term and Payment Method; both are required.
