Registration Group

A registration group is a kind of registration number: income tax number, sales tax number, national identity number. It sets the rules a number of that kind must meet on Registration.

What it is for

The rules a group sets are checked when a Registration is saved:

• Unique: the same authority, group and number may not appear on the registration of another party of the same kind (another customer, another vendor) in the company.
• Registration Date Required and Expiry Date Required: the line must carry those dates.
• A group whose Registration Category is the national identity card (NIC) must hold a number in the form 12345-1234567-1 (the CNIC format in Pakistan).

Only one group may exist per Registration Category, except the general category, which may have many.

General

Field	What it means	What to put
Registration Group	The code that identifies the registration group. You type it on New, before Create.	Required. A short code; it cannot be changed once the record exists.
Name	The name of the registration group, shown next to the code wherever it is picked.	Required.
Registration Category	What kind of number this is.	Required. Pick from the fixed list.
Required Registration Status	The group keeps a list of statuses.	When ticked, at least one status is required on the Registration Status tab.
Unique	Numbers of this group must be unique per party.	Tick or leave clear.
Primary For Country	The main registration of its country.	Shown in the group list; nothing else reads it.
Registration Date Required	Lines of this group need a registration date.	Tick or leave clear.
Expiry Date Required	Lines of this group need an expiry date.	Tick or leave clear.
Print on Report	Meant to print the number on reports.	Nothing reads it today.
Index	The order numbers would print in.	Must differ from every other group’s Index. Nothing prints by it today.

Registration Status	A status a number of this group can have, such as Active or Filer.	Optional.

How to configure it

The screen allows import, so a long list can be loaded from a file instead of typed. Which fields are required, greyed, hidden or pre-filled for a company is set on Organizational Structure Setting, in its Default Parameters grid, and one user can differ through User Parameter Value.

• Picked on these company setup screens: Registration.
• Picked on Release Vendor In Legal Entity, Vendor, Vendor Group, Vendor In Legal Entity in Payables.
• Picked on Customer, Customer Group, Customer In Legal Entity, Release Customer In Legal Entity in Receivables.

If something looks wrong

• “Registration Group for this category is already exists” Another group already has this Registration Category.
• “Index: … already exists.” Another group already uses this Index.
• “At least one Registration Status is required when Required Registration Status is true.”
• “Registration Group is already exists”
