What it is for

An item marked Item Variant with Item Variant BaseOn set to Field-Based must name an Item Variant Group. The group lists the Variant dimensions, and the item's variants are combinations of their values.

A group must have at least one line: Save refuses an empty one.

How to configure it

Scenarios

• A paint item comes in shades and tin sizes. Make a group with the Shade and Tin variants and give it to the item as its Item Variant Group.

If something looks wrong

• "Variant Group Lines cannot be empty" on Save. Add at least one variant line.
• "... already exists" on Save. Another group already uses this code.
