Variant
One variant dimension, such as Shade or Pack, and the list of values it can take.
What it is for
A variant is a dimension along which one item comes in several versions. The lines list the values the dimension can take. A Variant Group then puts several variants together, and an item whose variants are built field by field uses that group.
A variant must have at least one value line: Save refuses an empty one.
Every field in plain words

Scenarios
- A paint maker sells each paint in several shades and tin sizes. Make a variant Shade with its shades as values and a variant Tin with its sizes, then put both in one Variant Group.
What it is connected to
- Variant Group - groups variants for an item
- Release Item In Legal Entity - a field-based variant item picks its values from these lines
If something looks wrong
- "Variant Lines cannot be empty" on Save. Add at least one value line.
- "... already exists" on Save. Another variant already uses this code.
